As you can see from this website, in addition to my work as a clinical psychotherapist, I also participate in the media. For this reason I maintain a public presence through various online social media applications, particularly Twitter and my blog.
For most of us, Social Networking has come to be a regular and important part of our daily lives. I have come to see that social media use can affect the therapeutic relationship and have found it necessary to create a social media policy. I ask all my clients to read my social media policy when they start therapy.
I wish to make it absolutely clear that I hold my confidential clinical work to be separate from my media and online presence, and you can be assured that any media work never contains confidential client material: this remains absolutely sacrosanct.
You can read my social networking policy in more detail here.
